Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing counseling is for consumers who are seeking, financing, maintaining, renting or owning a home. The sessions help consumers make responsible housing choices in light of their needs and financial situation. Housing counselors educate first-time home buyers about financing options. Counselors also help anyone who wants to (or already does) rent or own a home, to make their rent or mortgage payments and to be a responsible tenant or owner. Counselors who provide this service are trained and approved by HUD.

Housing for people with low income that includes coordination of other services for residents. The coordination professional can help residents identify resources, navigate systems or help with applying to additional programs. Supportive housing is provided in an apartment building and 48 units of scattered-site housing in Hennepin County. These sites serve homeless and/or disabled young people and are designed to increase self-sufficiency and decrease the risk of future homelessness. The Rapid Rehousing Program * Helps youth ages 18 - 24 who are experiencing homelessness transition quickly from the streets and emergency shelters to stable housing * Housing for up to 24 months with support in building skills and increasing income to successfully maintain housing after completing the program

A group of people that meet on a regular basis to share their experiences and provide mutual support. MORE INFORMATION Sisters and Misters in Survival monthly cancer survivor support group meets at various locations in the Twin Cities. * At the support group meetings members share their experiences, coping skills, encouragement, information, resources, hopes and fears. * Members learn connecting with other breast cancer survivors can help alleviate the fear, isolation and stress that occurs with the diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer. * Meetings can also help to improve communication, emotional health and your quality of life throughout. Women with other types of cancers are welcome to join the group.

Home ownership program that offers financial assistance to make home purchases more affordable for those that meet eligibility requirements MORE INFORMATION Transforms condemned, underutilized, and neglected properties into safe, rental or homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate- income households primarily people of color * Houses for sale include remodels/rehabs and new constructions. Homeownership Pathways helps people with financial goals, pre-purchase, purchase and post-purchase of a home. * Helps with down payment or closing costs

Transitional housing helps people live independently, address issues that led to homelessness or kept them homeless, rebuild their support network and transition into permanent housing. Employment preparation and career training program that provides experience or vocational education for the work associated with a certain type of job MORE INFORMATION Helps its participants secure and retain jobs through program activities, services, support, and job certification training. Will also help with GED prep course or higher education, housing and life skills. The goal is to end the cycle of incarceration, homelessness and social isolation.

The Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP) helps low-income families with or without children, unaccompanied youth and single adults who are homeless or are about to become homeless. Resources and money help with: * Preventing homelessness * Getting back into housing right away * Staying in housing Assistance usually takes the form of short-term help with rent. It may also help with utility costs. Payments may help to prevent foreclosure or eviction.

Offers cash or other short term aid to people in a crisis that is affecting their access to basic needs Emergency assistance can vary based upon eligibility and available funds. Program that provides a free or low cost meal to people in need MORE INFORMATION Summer Food Feeding and School Lunch Program (Seasonal: Summer-Only) Youth ages 18 and under can receive prepared meals (breakfast and lunch) daily delivered to their home and/or summer program, such as day care, summer camp, YMCA, etc.
