Support Group - Grief, Grandparents as Caregivers
Advice, support and comfort for people and their families
A group of people that meet on a regular basis to share their experiences and provide mutual support.

Offers support groups for elders in the community:
Widow's Circle Support Group meets regularly and provides emotional, mental and spiritual support for those grieving a loss.
Grandparents Caring for Grandchildren program provides support and resources to grandparents who have taken on the role of primary caregiver of one or more children under the age of 18.

Foster Adopt Minnesota
Helpline - HELP Program
Telephone support service that provides information about a particular topic to those who call.
Staff or volunteers answer questions or talk confidentially with callers. Program can provide information, a sympathetic listener, advice and/or referrals to other resources.

The Foster Adopt Minnesota HELP program offers free phone support and information and referral to Minnesota adoptive families.
The HELP Program offers the following to Minnesota adoptive families:
* Phone and email-based support from a team of HELP Specialists with advanced training in supporting adoptive, foster and kinship families
* Connecting families with adoption/trauma/attachment-competent therapists, appropriate community resources, as well as educational offerings
* Assisting eligible families with funding to help with the cost of therapy with HELP Program vetted therapists, Foster Adopt Minnesota educational offerings and eligible supports
Resources and support are available to adoptive parents of children who have special needs and to professionals who serve adoptive families.

The Kinship Navigator Program assists families caring for children who are not their own, like grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close family friends, to help these individuals and families succeed.

* Getting assistance with everyday needs like housing, child care, food, health and transportation
* Maintaining financial stability
* Discovering emotional and community support networks

The Minnesota Indian Area Agency on Aging is designated by the Minnesota Department of Human Service Board on Aging, providing Title III services to elders 60 years of age and older, caregivers of elders 60+, and grandparents/relatives raising relative children.

The Community Caring for its Children program works to place African American children in the homes of family or fictive kin the event of child's forced removal resulting from parental allegations of neglect.
